About Wound Care Management Professional Diploma
Wound Care Management Professional Diploma, theory and clinical, provides the participant with the advanced knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to provide comprehensive care for patients with skin and integumentary health conditions. The course focuses on preparing participants to assist the patient and his family to adapt to their conditions and to achieve the optimal level of care with the minimum disabilities. Evidence based knowledge is a framework in providing a consistent, updated and research based approach to guide wound care practice. It is adherent to various aspects of wound care management including wound healing process, factors delay or promote healing, wound assessment and wound management modalities. It also challenges practical understanding of different concepts applied to wound care management such as wound bed preparation, wound cleansing and irrigation and the use of antiseptics. This course also helps the participant to explore scientific literature and utilize research findings in planning and providing comprehensive care for patients having or at risk of having skin and integumentary health problems. Additional to wound care practitioner role, the participants learn administrative, researcher, and educator roles adherent to holistic tissue viability specialist roles.
